Background

Coog is a vertical application developed by Coopengo and dedicated to insurance built on top of Tryton. It includes 25 Tryton core modules and 120 modules specific to the insurance business.

BFM made a tender at the beginning of 2015 for a solution to internalize the loan insurance management. The issue was double, put in place the whole insurance solution and also migrate the existing different portfolio in the new system (around 450k policies and parties).

Scope

The scope was the whole loan insurance management (except the claims which are dealt directly by the insurer) :

  • Party management
  • Insurance policy subscription
  • Insurance policy modification (endorsement)
  • Invoicing
  • Accounting
  • SEPA Payment
  • Commissions
  • Reporting
  • Batches

Result

The project started by the end of 2015. The team increased up to 4 people during 2016. The project went live by the summer 2016. The migration of the first portfolio occurred a while after and the second part of the migration should be over by the end of 2016. While we already had some references in production, this project was the occasion to work on new functionalities (distribution_portfolio, underwriting, sepa_amendement) and to improve our deployment tools (coog-admin, docker).
