2012-07-13 11:16 <nicoe> yangoon: ping
2012-07-13 11:46 <yangoon> nicoe: pong
2012-07-13 11:48 <nicoe> yangoon: we had a talk with a customer today and he asked us why 2.4 is not in wheezy
2012-07-13 11:49 <nicoe> yangoon: something prevented you to create the packages ?
2012-07-13 11:49 <yangoon> nicoe: wheezy is frozen
2012-07-13 11:50 <yangoon> I had to decide at the time, if 2.4 could be expected to be stable enoudh to be included in Debian stable
2012-07-13 11:50 <nicoe> yangoon: you do not consider it stable enough ?
2012-07-13 11:51 <yangoon> nicoe: in my experience it will need (as the past releases) two mor bugfix releases to be considered really stable
2012-07-13 11:52 <yangoon> nicoe: I anounced one more bugfix releas for the current 2.2 in wheezy and this will be accepted
2012-07-13 11:52 <yangoon> finally it is no problem
2012-07-13 11:52 <yangoon> the packages are uploaded to experimental
2012-07-13 11:53 <yangoon> nicoe: so 2.4 is perfectly well available from experimental
2012-07-13 11:53 <nicoe> yangoon: he knows but I suppose he only installs debian stable and would have prefered 2.4 instead of 2.2
2012-07-13 11:54 <pilou> the problem will be the same for 2.6
2012-07-13 11:54 <pilou> maybe backports could be used ?
2012-07-13 11:54 <yangoon> nicoe: there will probabaly backports availabale from tryton.debian.org, but no one can even predict, when debian wheezy will be released
2012-07-13 11:56 <nicoe> he said that there is an exception period where packages can be included even if they were not present a the time of the freeze
2012-07-13 11:56 <yangoon> nicoe:
2012-07-13 11:56 <nicoe> he also proposed to help you advocate it if you think this can be done
2012-07-13 11:57 <pilou> nicoe: the problem will the same for next tryton release
2012-07-13 11:58 <yangoon> pilou: +1, and that is why we are free with tryton.debian.org to offer whatever we want
2012-07-13 11:58 <yangoon> the debain release cycle and the tryton release cycle will never match
2012-07-13 11:58 <nicoe> pilou: I don't understand why
2012-07-13 11:58 <nicoe> what is the debian release cycle ?
2012-07-13 11:59 <nicoe> Isn't it "When it's ready" ?
2012-07-13 11:59 <pilou> because tryton 2.6 will not be in squeeze and customer will cry again :)
2012-07-13 12:00 <pilou> nicoe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debian#Releases
2012-07-13 12:02 <yangoon> currently debian tries to do time based freezes, which is new
2012-07-13 12:02 <yangoon> but finally it is still when it is ready, which depends on open RC bugs
2012-07-13 12:02 <yangoon> nicoe: your customer wants to run squeeze?
2012-07-13 12:03 <nicoe> yangoon: wheezy
2012-07-13 12:03 <yangoon> nicoe: what is the problem to take the packages from the same maintainers from experimental?
2012-07-13 12:04 <pilou> yangoon: note that i am interested in having tryton 2.4 in bpo and I can help build the packages for bpo, i don't know very well and i need mentoring
2012-07-13 12:04 <nicoe> I suppose he prefers to use official stable packages
2012-07-13 12:05 <yangoon> pilou: it is in the pipeline
2012-07-13 12:05 <nicoe> But I was not aware of the existance of debian.tryton.org
2012-07-13 12:05 <yangoon> pilou: I will talk with dba, when he is back from debconf
2012-07-13 12:05 <nicoe> It might be OK with him
2012-07-13 12:05 <pilou> yangoon: ok, let me know if i can help
2012-07-13 12:06 <yangoon> pilou: of course, thx
2012-07-13 12:06 <nicoe> yangoon: anyway we will probably need a helping hand to create a debian packages for a specific module for him, we'll get in touch then ...
2012-07-13 12:07 <yangoon> nicoe: no problem, we are doing it everyday for our customers, too
2012-07-13 12:07 <nicoe> yangoon: thanks

2012-07-13 21:29 <lukio> hello, i have a wizard with two StateView. At second view some fields are required=True. If I want to go-back to the first view and I didn't write some text at my fields, I can't because the fields are required=True. any idea to solve this problem? thanks
2012-07-13 22:18 <lukio> hello ?
2012-07-13 22:40 <smarro> lukio: maybe if you don't use the required=True, and check the values of the fields in the transition methods...
2012-07-13 23:30 <lukio> well, finally i do something like smarro tell me and I throw an raise_user_error if some field is measing.
