LordVanHi. I am consdering adding some (very basic) form of price calculation to articles and was wondering if there was anything existing that I maybe missed? - to be more concrete: I was planning to add an extra tab to product/template to include some fields like size X,Y,Z, density, work hours spent on it and hourly rate, extra material, profit margin,.. and just have it calcualte the price - but also save previous calculations for historical 13:57
LordVanreasons (the backgroudn being ther ehave been large varitions in prics for materials, wages, ..)13:57
LordVancurrently this is done in a spreadsheet (office staff made this, but it is .. error prone and not easy to use because of the number of fields/formulas)13:58
LordVansimilar to what product_cost_history does with the price for products, but with more fields14:00
pokoliLordVan: this is custom code as the formula to compute the price is specific for each company14:05
LordVanpokoli, of course I just meant if there is maybe something generic like that somewhere that I could base it on14:06
pokoliI do not think so14:06
LordVani also have extra complexity for different hourly rates,..14:06
LordVanpokoli, ok thanks14:06
LordVani think i will look into product_cost_history for the historical "versions" that should be a good reference (or maybe it is too complicated .. will see)14:06
pokoliLordVan: IIRC product_cost_history has a revision table, you can fill such table with your computations if you want to store all versions of the cost14:13
LordVanpokoli, yes that was my first impression at a quick glance -- i need those revisions14:28
cedkLordVan: extend price list to get the needed values to make your computation14:45
LordVancedk, yes I was hoping that was a possibility but I did not get around to look at the details of the code (yet)14:46
