udonoplantian: AFAIK the context is only valid for the given transaction. Think of multi user / concurrency00:43
udonoplantian: but I guess it does not answer your question ;-)00:45
plantianudono: Ha yeah, I think maybe its just for shorter code but I wanted to make sure, it seems excessive here.00:46
udonoplantian: It is new since version 1.8, so maybe you find a more comfortable way00:47
udonoACTION goto bed00:47
plantianudono: yeah I'm trying to upgrade, thanks, I'll ttyl00:48

kaertericIs it possible to retrieve the chosen filename in the setterfunction of binary fields? I would like to have a reference to the file instead of the content of the file.10:22
cedkkaerteric: this is strange design10:23
bechamelkaerteric: by reference you mean the name of the file ?10:24
predatellI would like to see the translation of the official site in Russian language10:25
predatellWhat do I do for this?10:27
kaertericbechamel: Indeed reference is name; I would like to upload the file with the original name.10:28

cedkpredatell: did you read http://code.google.com/p/tryton/wiki/HowtoTranslate10:32
cedkkaerteric: for now, it is not possible to get the filename in other way than adding a Char field to let the user type it10:33
kaertericcedk: do you believe it is possible to add the desired functionality? Asking the user to type in path and filename is not done.10:39
predatellcedk: yes, I read. ID of issue 178510:40
cedkkaerteric: I think we could manage an event on binary field to update an other Char field with the name of the selected file10:41
cedkpredatell: I will check when I had time10:42

vincentvdlHi! When opening a form via a Wizard, the w6izard actions (buttons) that were defined to the model of that form are not displayed... is there a way to let them appear?12:09
vincentvdlFor example: I added a wizard to create requests which intelligently fills in some fields, but when I open one of those models via a wizard, then the button to create the request is not displayed12:10

vincentvdlHi... can I start a wizard from within a different wizard in a different module?16:58
vincentvdlI have a generic request wizard that I now would like to trigger from a different wizard16:59
bechamelvincentvdl: you can finich a wizard with an action, and this action can call any other wizard17:00
vincentvdlbechamel: thanks, I think that's exactly what I'm looking for17:01

cedkvincentvdl: you can look at ModuleConfigWizard in trytond/ir/module.py17:22
cedkbechamel: did you use Ext JS?17:25
bechamelcedk: no, why ?17:25
cedkbechamel: I was thinking about the possibility to write a web client with py2js and ExtJS17:27
cedkhttp://mattpap.github.com/py2js/html/index.html17:27
bechamelcedk: IMO javascript as some weirdness but is overall a good langage, so using convertion tools like this brings more problem than solutions17:29
vincentvdlcedk: Thanks!!!! It seems to work!17:29
cedkbechamel: yes but we could perhaps reuse proteus17:49
cedkbechamel: py2js is not really complete17:57
bechamelcedk: do you think that py2js support all the metaclass magic used in proteus ?17:58
cedkbechamel: looking at the bug tracker it seems not18:06

elbenfreundmy main application is some kind of club-management as was disscussed in 2009 if i read the list archives right...19:35
elbenfreundam i right that there hasn't been any further progress so far? and would anyone around be interested in picking up the issue..?19:39
elbenfreundACTION congratz everyone involved to the recent 1.8 release19:39

plantianelbenfreund: I am not a core developer, just a tryton user.  Did you mean the IRC log or google group mailing lists?  I must have missed the discussion.19:40
elbenfreundi think i found two reference, one beeing a IRC-log: http://www.tryton.org/~irclog/de/2009-05-11.log.html19:41
elbenfreundgerman though...19:41
elbenfreundone major idea was to implement club-management under the wings of a more general (recouring) contrags-management funktionality19:44
elbenfreundcontractd19:44
elbenfreundcontracts19:44
plantianelbenfreund: Oh yeah, sorry, regretfully I only speak English. Recurring payments you mean ?19:47
elbenfreundhm, i think/fear its more complicated than this.19:48
elbenfreundthe aim would be to dynamicly create a new "product/service" for each subscription period19:48
elbenfreundan invoice all subscibed partners19:48
elbenfreundso one is left only with reconciling subscription fees and follow ups19:49
elbenfreundwell i guess i will look for a first work around as soon as my basic modules are set up19:50
elbenfreundand wonder about hacking a new module sometime later.. :)19:50
plantianelbenfreund: I have made modules to extend the core modules myself and it is not too hard.  There is a learning curve though.  Some other developers might have experience with the periodic subscriptions though, I do not.  You might try waiting here for others to come by and join the discussion or also try the mailing list for tips on the best way to model it in Tryton.19:52
elbenfreundjep19:53
plantianThere is a product type for "service" though.19:54
elbenfreundim rather sure i will stick around for quite some time ... although i'm realy put of by the use of google-groups...19:55
plantianOh, why is that ?19:55
plantianI've heard other people complain about it in other projects but it seems to work fine here, I just get mail into gmail.19:57
elbenfreundbecause one subscribes not only to some random mailman-list but to a full-fledged google-account. something that gives me goosebumps19:58
elbenfreundwell, off to basic data entry now... :) hope to see you around later on.19:59
plantianelbenfreund: Oh yeah I guess that is something I had not though about because I have had a google account for a while.  It takes time off maintaining a mail server though to spend on core development.20:00
plantianelbenfreund: Okay I will see you around.20:00
elbenfreundwell there are plenty of free list providers around that dont raise the same suspicions as google does.20:01
elbenfreundbut in the end its all manageble of cause.20:02
elbenfreundi just wonder why even developers, for which it would be no problem at all to use alternatives, bind themselfs and their users to this one particular provider...20:03

plantianHas anyone been able to query a Many2Many field via search()?  I have been unable to get it to work and I think it might be impossible.22:04
plantianI upgraded to 1.8 and nothing seems to have changed.22:04
udonoplantian: maybe you can search the intermediate model?22:13
plantianudono: Hmm maybe. The models look like this -- http://paste.pocoo.org/show/304929/22:15
plantianI was trying to do product_obj.search(['features.name', 'ilike', '%feature-name-part%']).22:16
plantianI also tried features.feature.name but maybe this kind of query does not make sense.  I am thinking of a JOIN between products and features based on the feature's name.22:17
udonoplantian: how do you pool product_obj?22:23
udonoplantian: did you try with project_template_obj?22:24
udonoplantian: ... maybe the _inherits on product.product does restrict?22:25
plantianNot for a while, I will try that again but then I cannot combine with regular product queries.22:25
plantianI think maybe I have modeled things the wrong way.22:26
