LordVanhi08:26
LordVani was wondering .. are there any document management systems (CAD files, pdf,..) that work well in combination with tryton ? (or that someone uses )08:26
cedkLordVan: what would you want it to work with?08:43
LordVanoffer/order/delivery notes/invoice and production  ^^08:44
LordVani was thinking it might be good to move to use something like that as well when introducing tryton08:44
LordVanas opposed to our current shared network drive08:44
cedkLordVan: sometimes we propose to just have a script that "synchronize" folder creation with some Tryton model08:46
cedkLordVan: so as far as the DM can be scripted, any can work08:47
cedkand even a simple shared folder08:47
LordVanic08:47
LordVanthat said you know of any good open source DM system that can deal with CAD and libreoffice,..  files well?08:47
cedkLordVan: no08:48
LordVanok (was worth asking ^^ )08:49
cedkLordVan: if it is just about storing without any workflow, why is a shared folder not good?08:49
LordVanwell i was just thinking how annoying it is that sometimes people rename or move stuff around without knowing they break some file links ,..08:49
LordVanbut i guess markign older stuff read-only could do the trick08:50
rmuLordVan: have a look at https://www.mayan-edms.com/08:55
LordVanrmu, i've seen this before a few years ago. you using it (or used it before) ?08:56
rmuyes, but mostly for scanned documents09:01
rmuand PDFs that arereceived via email09:01

LordVanrmu, how is the install / upgrade process ?09:34
LordVani definitely want something low maintainance -and easy to use for office-worker PC-n00bs ;)09:35
rmuLordVan: low maintenance until now. the main developer is in puerto rico, so development was/is slow the last months09:39
rmuLordVan: but it is pretty stable09:39
LordVannice09:44
LordVanrmu, ah that was using django09:45
LordVani guess i can use mod_wsgi to run that through apache again^^09:45

mrichezhi, what is the best/proper way to display fields from parent/child models into the same view? table_query ? For example, i need to display all purchases related to a product... the xml view will be purchase_lines but it would be better with supplier name as an extra field for example.13:25
-!- NeonKing(~Neonking@unaffiliated/neonking) has joined #tryton13:27
pokolimrichez: I will add functional fields to the model to display the supplier and other fields13:29
mrichezpokoli: ok. And as this model is only used for relate purpose, should i better redefine a new model heriting from original model with function field added ? Or adding this function field on the actual model doesn't matter on the whole behaviour of tryton...13:37
pokolimrichez: adding the fields on the current model will be easier. Once you have the field is just a mather of creating custom views to show them13:46
mrichezpokoli: indeed it's easier, but i need for example 3 extra fields with purchase_line : purchase_number, supplier and currency... Will it be not resource consuming to add those fields as function fields on the purchase_line model ? What's the behaviour of the orm with function fields ?14:00
pokolimrichez: I don't think it should be resource consuming. Tryton will load one purchase instance with all fields on the first field and then return the other fields from memory14:02
-!- csotelo(~csotelo@179.43.97.56) has joined #tryton14:07
mrichezpokoli: ok. I will follow the easy way :-)  Anyway is there any example of a new model heriting from existing one to redefine a complex view?14:08
cedkmrichez: by the way, is it not related to https://bugs.tryton.org/issue738914:09
pokolimrichez: you just have to add the fields to the model and define a new view (which includes your new fields) to be used as related14:10
pokolimrichez: you don't have to create a new model14:10
mrichezcedk: hum, not really, my first need was to have an history of all purchases and sales related to a product14:15
-!- JanGB(~jan@x2f7fa8e.dyn.telefonica.de) has joined #tryton14:16
mrichezpokoli: i know, but i was wondering if such a code was existing :-)14:18
pokolimrichez: then you probably want to use the following module: https://bitbucket.org/nantic/trytond-product_purchase_history14:18
-!- cdchapman(~perturbed@73.98.169.133) has joined #tryton14:19
mrichezpokoli: exactly what i intend to do (with some extra fields : supplier, currency, ..) :-)14:20
pokolimrichez: then it's a mather of adding your fields and customizing the views14:22
mrichezcedk: your issue seems more like a reception schedule , no ?14:22
cedkmrichez: yes14:23
mrichezpokoli: :-) it was my first idea, but i prefer asking question to all of you concerning the best way...14:25
mrichezpokoli: anyway in your code, you redefine purchase_state but it's already existing in purchase_line14:28
pokolimrichez: because this module was developed for an older version where the state wasn't available14:29
-!- JanGB(~jan@business-178-015-079-061.static.arcor-ip.net) has joined #tryton14:30
mrichezpokoli: ok :-)14:31
pokolimrichez: IMHO the problem with this kind of modules is that it never has all the required fields for every use case, so normally is better to maintain it as specific (private) and do not try to make a generic solution14:32
mrichezpokoli: indeed... but those kind of modules are not so difficult to make, so with a good example, anyone can customize is own module with specific fields...14:35
